Mark Fanning
Mark Fanning was born and raised in Abilene, Texas. He was blessed to be raised in a Christian home by Christian parents, and with his father being a minister, he often found himself at church. One summer at R.A. camp, he felt the Lord knocking on his heart’s door, yet he put Him off. About a month later, on a Sunday night, he could not delay his response and accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord.
Mark attended Hardin-Simmons University, where he met his wife, Sherrie, and graduated with a BBA in accounting. He worked in Public Accounting for the first 12 years with local firms. He has worked for Lhoist North America for 24 years, where his areas of responsibility include financial accounting, taxation, and treasury.
Mark and Sherrie joined Travis in 1986. Mark has served in many areas of the church, such as a 5th-grade Bible Study Leader, director of 11th grade, and director of the Young Marrieds Department. He also has served in R.A.’s, the finance committee, and as a deacon. He currently serves as a Bible Study Teacher for the Young Marrieds class.
